Truffle Competition
- This contest is open to all culinary professionals. You may enter up to 10 truffles. Please fill out one entry form for each separate entry. Entries must be the original creation of the entrant on the entry form.
- Entries must emphasize chocolate, in ingredients and appearance. White chocolate may be used. We reserve the right to refuse any entry that is deemed inappropriate.
- Entry fee is $5 per entry for our vendors, and $10 per entry to outside entrants. Each entrant who is not a vendor at the Chocolate Festival receives one free admission to the Festival ($10 value).
- DEADLINE EXTENDED: Competition Entry Forms and Fees are due by noon on Saturday, Nov. 14. Details are on the entry form.
- Prizes will be awarded as follows: Grand Champion - $100 and blue ribbon; Best Traditional Filling - $50 and ribbon; Best Non-Traditional Filling – $50 and ribbon.
- Entries must be delivered on-site and checked in between 11:00am - 1:00 pm Sunday, Nov. 15. Entries will be stored in a secure area.
- Entries should consist of 4 servings. A serving would be enough for a judge to have at least 3 bites or swallows.
- Judging will be done by Gazette Food Editor Teresa Farney , and prizes will be awarded on our Main Stage at 2 pm. Entries will be judged on flavor, texture, originality, richness, appearance and skillful use of chocolate.
- Entrants are asked to be present - or to have a representative present - during the awards presentation from 2:00 - 3:30 pm. Winners will be asked to go onstage to receive their prizes.
- Entrants are responsible for removal of their entries, plates, etc. by 4pm. Items may be picked up from our holding room (where you checked in). Items not picked up become property of the Holiday Chocolate Festival at the Broadmoor.
